Why Do You Think YOU Will Be Any Different?

It’s been 123 days since Allan Klepfisz promised Lauren Davidson from The Telegraph, that Qtrax employees will be paid with most of the debt “in the coming days”. Obviously, that didn’t happen. But there’s more than that.

I suggest you read the recent Facebook post written by Qtrax former employees. Allan Klepfisz promised to pay the employees until the last penny. He hasn’t done so, Qtrax hasn’t done so.

Qtrax didn’t pay its suppliers. Qtrax didn’t pay its own employees. Do you think Qtrax will pay you?

Allan Klepfisz hasn’t kept his promise to his own employees. Do you think Allan Klepfisz will keep his promise to you?

Well, if to use a quote – “Some people are immune to good advice”.

Ethical issues in the music industry

‘What do you want to do when you’ll be older?’

‘I want to be a star!’

This is one of the most common answer that we get from a 6-year-old girl. Why?

Well, music is a big business, attracting million of people interest. It looks ‘cool’  to be a star and to sing in front of thousands of people.

According to the Digital Music Report 2012, the revenue of digital music grew by 8 per cent globally in 2011 that represents an estimated US$5.2billion. Music is everywhere and part of our daily life. Think about it: Can you notice one single day where you don’t hear any music? Even on television ads, or films, at the cafeteria or from the ringtone of your phone? Your answer is certainly no.

Music interferes more and more nowadays and it is not just a matter of entertainment through concerts and spectacles. Indeed, music has different purposes, for example: accompany…

So what’s on Allan’s mind, regarding the unpaid salaries

On August 1st, 2014, we started working from home, and had to leave the office a few days earlier.

113 days ago, in a statement to The Telegraph’s reporter, Lauren Davidson, Allan and Lance told that they will “resolve most of the debt in the coming days”.

Well, that obviously didn’t happened. Since then, Qtrax has paid 3 staff members, about 30% of their debt, and to additional staff, about 10% of the debt – all together about $12K out of $190K in total owed, to eight former staff members.

So what’s on Allan Klepfisz & Lance J.O. Ford’s mind? Why aren’t they paying the people they’ve hired? their own staff, people who worked for more than a year at Qtrax, came in day after day for long hours, developed and protected your own fort.

Allan and Lance are now, as always, fundraising for Qtrax, once again. This time they would like to conquer the world with a new mobile app. They have the money to pay us, but why bother looking back? why not just run away and hide behind the corporate veil, if you can?

They are looking into the future and hiding behind the corporate veil. They save their funds for the future, rather than for completing the mess they’ve created in the past.

Allan and Lance now plan to conquer the music world, this time by a revolutionary mobile app (sounds familiar, right?). In their mind, they need to save the monies to endorse their own copious expenses, and develop the new mobile. Not to mention about maintaining the expensive Manhattan office (just a few blocks from the record labels, of course), and the costly travels around the world (after every dumb ass, that whistled Allan something about a sucker that maybe wants to invest).

Allan and Lance, the way we see it, are playing the time factor. In their mind, with time we will lose our strength and unity. In other words, the more time they’ll wait, the less time and energy we’ll have to continue our fight on our lost salaries. They think that next time they would like to launch a massive PR campaign, they will be able to “buy us” in a much lower price than what we currently demand – the exact sum owed us for salaries they did not pay. Not a dollar more.

We guess that Mr. Klepfisz and the marketing guru Mr. Ford just don’t know the patience and endurance abilities of their own former team. We are now going anywhere. Until you guys will pay what you owe us in full, we will continue our online search and update our readers about how you move forward leaving slashed and burnt ground behind.

Zirtual Employees Left Without their Salaries, Qtrax-Style

Woke up this morning, and was surprised to see the article about the unexpected shut down of Zirtual. Well, definitely not as surprised as Zirtual’s employees, who suddenly found themselves without a job, and furthermore –  without the salaries they’re supposed to receive. Sounds somewhat familiar to former Qtrax employees.

“I always knew I was going to get my paycheck, until today… I expected to get paid this Friday, and that’s not happening.”, said Carol Murrah of Zirtual. We truly sympathize and empathize your situation, dear Carol and all other Zirtual employees. We, who used to work for Qtrax, know how you must feel. Remember guys, there are about 400 of you. Don’t give up, you’ve got the power. As you advance in your careers and leave this sh*t behind, do whatever you can to get what you deserve. It’s yours. No reason to throw that away. We know we didn’t.

What’s the Story with Qtrax’s Patent?

This is so weird and confusing. Can someone enlighten us please?
Through our online search, we found a formal document of a patent, that was assigned to Sony Music Entertainment by Qtrax on June 2014.
Qtrax told The Telegraph reporter, that they didn’t have the funds, and therefore had to turn their back on their own staff, and left without paying salaries.
According to online publications, Sony is the 4th biggest patent owner in the US (see also this). We definitely don’t think Sony buys anything for dimes & nickels.
So first, IF Qtrax sold Sony a patent, why they didn’t use these funds to pay us? What did they use the funds for?
And the second question – IF Sony purchased an asset, than why we can’t any records for its price/value in their financial reports of this time period? Isn’t it a public company that must inform its own investors on gains & expenses? We couldn’t find it neither here, here, nor here.

Qtrax Legal Issues?

Allan Klepfisz of Qtrax, in his Own Words

In another long and tiring blog post, some seven years ago, in his own blog, Allan Klepfisz writes:
“…. We have a somewhat dated lawsuit going on with a Company called Millenium….We paid them some. And frankly struggled doing it, at the time. I can’t say more than that most of our suppliers have been wonderful. There are sometimes, exceptions. The legal system can decide if this is one. And then there’s Las Vegas Wall Street Group. A quite recent loan that it is claimed, is overdue. And there is a consent to a judgment signed by me. The facts will soon emerge about that also. Oh & just in case, it is deemed to also be newsworthy at some time in the future, there are a couple of outstanding lawsuits with toxic PIPES…
….Ah, but the journalist might say, there is a “pattern” of not paying bills – really? Unlike, so many other start ups, we have NOT gone under, even in the most difficult of times and indeed been willing to give ALL of our personal resources to paying bills & making this work…we certainly have and will use whatever personal resources we have to make Qtrax a success….
….Ah, but the journalist might say, what about the returned checks? Well, we gave checks ahead of time- postdated- (when we didn’t have money) based on promises of funding. And we were wrong in our belief it was coming. But we have found alternative funding and item by item, have been paying for EVERYTHING…..
…Ah, but the journalist might say, what about the lawsuits? Too high a number for things to be regular. I don’t know about the number. I know about the genesis and they each had their cause – sometimes an injustice we would not abide by, often just shortage of money…
….Ah, but the journalist might say, Klepfisz is “unreliable”. When it comes to launch dates, in the past, he is right. And he would be right about many other software producers. Including the largest…
….When it comes to having the requisite funds, when promised, he is also right. Sometimes, because of broken promises of others, we did not have the requisite funds. But we found them in due course…
…But if the “unreliable” word is intended to smear my honesty or decency, then I won’t tolerate it….”

Seven years after. More lawsuits. More debts. More delays in launching – but above all, more broken promises (“most of the debt in the coming days”, 3+ months ago), and more excuses.

Is it a profile? Something that repeats itself in a different disguise every few years? Are we ever gonna see anything from our lost salaries? Can we ever trust any word from Allan Klepfisz?
How many years have the music labels been doing business with Qtrax and let them use the best legal music catalogue, while Qtrax is involved with so many legal issues over these years?

Does anyone want to enlighten us?
